Pacesetters

Upcoming Events

SUU Pacesetters is the premiere outdoor leadership organization on campus. Pacesetters affords interested students, faculty, and staff a venue to practice outdoor leadership through the planning and implementing of a variety of trips and activities. We serve to enrich our participants and the campus community through our two-fold mission:
  1. Pacesetters will host and provide leadership for safe, educational, and enjoyable trips for the SUU community. We will serve to provide outdoor opportunities, education, and enrich the culture of the outdoors at SUU.
  2. Pacesetters will provide a venue for SUU students to practice leadership and organizational skills. We will offer students the opportunity to organize and lead trips through the Harry Reid Center for Outdoor Engagement. The Pacesetter program will impart in student leaders skills stemming from the six Wilderness Education Associations core competencies: Outdoor Living; Planning and Logistics; Risk Management; Leadership; Environmental Integration; and Education. Peer Adventure

Peer Adventure is the flagship trip series of SUU Pacesetters. The purpose of peer adventure is to allow Pacesetters to propose, organize, and lead trips of their own creation for the University community. This provides leadership opportunities limited only by the students own interest, and will provide a regular ongoing trip series on campus.

For more information on if and when trips will be, feel free to come in to the OEC (ST 172) or check out the calendar.
